This is an offbeat tour of Western Dooars. Especially recommended for travelers who want to explore a place beyond typical sightseeing. In this tour, we will not only take you to Gorumara for two nights which is a popular tourist destination, but we will also keep you one night each at new and upcoming tourist destinations that are less visited by tourists such as Samsing and Jhalong Bindu.
Day 1: NJP Rail Station to Gorumara, 80 Kms in 2.5 hrs – Arrival at NJP rail station. You will be received by our executive and helped in boarding awaiting vehicle. Transfer to Gorumara. Check in hotel. Evening Forest Safari (Safari Self arranged at own cost). Overnight at Gorumara.
Day 2: Jeep Safari to Gorumara Watch Tower – Early morning Jeep safari for 2 hrs to Gorumara Watch Tower (Safari Self arranged at own cost). Visit tower deep inside the forest to see the wild animals in their natural habitat. The towers give a panoramic view of the vast forest and grassland of Gorumara National Park. Return to your hotel for Breakfast.
Gorumara to Chilapata forest, 55kms in 1.5hrs (One way) – Drive to Chilapata through the deep forest and tea gardens about (55km in 1.5 hours.) Chilapata is home to many animals including Rhino, Bison, & various types of birds. The forest forms an elephant corridor between Jaldapara National Park and the Buxa Tiger Reserve. Have forest safari (at own cost) and visit ruined “Nal Rajar Garh”. Back to Gorumara by evening. Overnight at Gorumara.
Day 3: Gorumara to Samsing, 40 Kms in 1 hr – Start from Gorumara and drive to Samsing, a lesser known tiny hamlet in the lower hills of Kalimpong subdivision. The land of floating clouds, meandering mountain streams and endless maze of green will leave an everlasting sense of satisfaction. Check in at Hotel.
Local Sightseeing in Samsing–proceed to Suntaleykhola to enjoy the scenic landscape. You may also walk down for 2 km from Samsing to Rocky Island on the bank of Wild Murti River. Overnight at Samsing.
Day 4. Check-out from Gorumara and transfer to Bindu: After having breakfast, We drive onwards from Samsing to Bindu (Alt 4350Ft / 1300M), the last village on the Indo–Bhutan border along the Himalayan foothills. Also, visit Jhalong on the bank of Jaldhaka River. Enjoy the break in Jhalong. A small village Garibus comes on your way, where diascorrea a medicine plant is grown. Check in the resort/ hotel. free leisure evening. Overnight at Bindu.
Day 5. Today we will drop you for your return / onward journey. In the morning time to pack your things. After breakfast check-out from Bindu. we transfer you to NJP / Bagdogra. Tour ends.
Note:- Forest safaris in Dooars cannot be booked in advance. Guest has to take the safari permit on the spot directly against additional payment. Our responsibility will be limited to taking the guests to the forest ticket counter. Forest safaris cannot be guaranteed in advance as it is booked on the spot.

Best time to visit
Dooars can be visited at any time of the year. The monsoon months are especially attractive as the forests are at their greenest best. Bear in mind that between Mid June and Mid September the forest safaris are closed and visits inside the forest are not possible. The winter months between November and March witnesses maximum tourist visit in Dooars. Costs are higher during this period and you may have to share the watchtower with many others.
