This tour will start from Gorumara where you will spend one night. The next day you will visit the forest and also visit the Bindu Jhalong area before proceeding to Jaldapara where you stay for two nights. From Jaldapara you will not only visit the forest but also visit the nearby Bhutanese border town of Phuentsholing. Ideal for tourists who want to visit maximum places in a short duration.
Itinerary
Day 1
NJP Rail Station / Bagdogra Airport to Gorumara, 80 Kms in 2.5 hrs – Arrival at NJP or Bagdogra. You will be received by our executive and helped in boarding awaiting vehicle. Transfer to Gorumara. Check-in hotel. Evening Forest Safari at Chapramari OR visit to Medhla Watch Tower and on way visit Murti (Safari Self arranged at own cost). Overnight at Gorumara.
Day 2
Jeep Safari to Gorumara Watch Tower – Early morning Jeep safari for 2 hrs to Gorumara Watch Tower (Safari Self arranged at own cost). Visit Rhino Point and Jatra Prasad Tower deep inside the forest to see the wild animals in their natural habitat. Both towers give a panoramic view of the vast forest and grassland of Gorumara National Park. Return to your hotel for Breakfast.
Gorumara to Bindu Jhalong Excursion with Chapramari Sanctuary, 55kms in 2.5hrs (One way) – After breakfast, we drive to Bindu (Alt 4350Ft / 1300M), the last village on the Indo–Bhutan border along the Himalayan foothills. Also, visit Jhalong on the bank of the Jaldhaka River. On your way, you will be passing through Chapramari Sanctuary.
Drive to Jaldapara 87 km in 2 hours. Over Night at Jaldapara.
Day 3
Full day sightseeing around Jaldapara. Morning Elephant Ride (As per Availability or Alternatively Jeep Safari - Safari Self arranged at own cost). After breakfast, you start a full day of sightseeing. You have three choices in this matter. You may either go towards Coochbehar where you can visit the Madan Mohan temple and Coochbehar palace. Alternatively, you may visit Phuentsholing town on the Bhutan side of the Indo-Bhutan border, or you may drive to Buxa Tiger reserve and visit the forest inside including the Jayanti river. Before finalization of the tour, you much confirm your choice with our executive. Return to Jaldapara in the afternoon. Over Night at Jaldapara.
Day 4
Return to NJP. Pack up and start a return journey in the morning. On the way visit South Khairbari Nature Park where you can take a leopard safari or visit a watchtower. Continue your journey to return back to NJP in the evening. Tour concludes.
Note:- Forest safaris in Dooars cannot be booked in advance. The guest has to take the safari permit on the spot directly against additional payment. Our responsibility will be limited to taking the guests to the forest ticket counter. Forest safaris cannot be guaranteed in advance as it is booked on the spot.

Best time to visit
Dooars can be visited at any time of the year. The monsoon months are especially attractive as the forests are at their greenest best. Bear in mind that between Mid June and Mid September the forest safaris are closed and visits inside the forest are not possible. The winter months between November and March witness maximum tourist visits in Dooars. Costs are higher during this period and you may have to share the watchtower with many others.
