Situated around 56 Km from Darjeeling town, Rimbik is a small village in the Darjeeling district. The village is situated on the fringes of the Singalila National Park. Rimbhik is also situated close to the Indo-Nepal Border. It is a very remote area with a rustic location surrounded by mountain ranges & forests & tea gardens.
Rimbik is mostly popular as the last point of accommodation for those who go for the Sandakphu trek, also known as the Singalila National Park trek. From Sandakphu, two ridges go downhill towards the east, the one starting near Kalepokhri reaches directly to Rimbik, and the other ridge originating right from Sandakphu, goes to Gurdum and Srikhola, and from there to Rimbik.
Apart from being part of the Sandakphu trek route, Rimbik has all the natural attractions to make it an attractive tourist destination in its own right. There are plenty of budget accommodations where tourists can stay, including several trekkers' huts. However, no luxury accommodation is available here.
Getting There
Rimbik is one of the most difficult-to-reach corners of Darjeeling hills. If you are travelling from the plains such as Bagdogra Airport or NJP rail station, you will be visiting Maneybhanjang first near Darjeeling and then the same road will continue till it ends at Rimbik. The distance from NJP to Rimbik is about 120 km and takes about 5 hours to cover. There is an alternative road from Darjeeling town which goes to Rimbick via Bijanbari. This route is less used.

The Summer here offers a very pleasant & comfortable atmosphere, Winters are also bright & comfortable, heavy woollen clothes are required during winter. Medium to high level of rainfall occurs during monsoon months. The average summer temperature varies between 19 to 26 degrees Celsius & Winter is 9 to 16 Degree Celsius.
